Soil & Forestry Services routinely submits septic applications to Iredell County Environmental Health (ICEH) under their expedited review process. The intent of the process is to shorten the time it takes for the ICEH to review and approve septic applications. Under the process the soil scientist evaluates the soil, demonstrates the drain field location (e.g. layout) and prepares a system design. ICEH requires excavation of pits for the soil evaluation. Additionally the property corners and boundaries must be marked in the field. The first step in the expedited review process is to obtain a zoning permit from the Iredell County Planning Dept (349 N Center Street, Statesville). Besides the soil notes and system design, a completed application and supporting forms (see below) are required.
